Kelly Oucharek is a wife, mother of four, Registered Nurse, and community advocate who is proud to be running for Ward 2 Council.
Raised in Jamesville in geared-to-income housing, Kelly understands firsthand the challenges many residents in our community face every day. She has lived in Ward 2 her entire life; it is where she has chosen to put down roots, raise her family, and build a life rooted in service and community. It is home.

“I grew up in the Jamesville survey in a family of seven. Here I am with my older sister and younger brother.”
“I witnessed the demolition of my childhood home. The foreman was kind enough to pry off the house number and give it to me!”

Kelly attended local elementary schools, Centennial and Bennetto, before graduating from Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School. She later continued her education at Mohawk College.
For the past 27 years, Kelly has worked as a Registered Nurse in both acute care and community care settings. Her career has been built around helping people, advocating for families, and serving those who need support most. Every day, she sees firsthand the importance of compassion, accountability, and strong leadership. Nursing has taught her how to listen, solve problems under pressure, and bring people together to achieve meaningful results.
Faith and service have always been central to Kelly’s life. She is a longtime member of James North Baptist Church, where she remains committed to giving back and supporting others.
Kelly and her husband, Bert, have been married for 29 years, and together they have raised four children here in Hamilton. Like many families in Ward 2, they care deeply about safe neighbourhoods, strong schools, affordable housing, recreation opportunities, and a city that works for everyone.
Community involvement has always been a cornerstone of Kelly’s life. Over the years, she has volunteered as:

“Here I am with the SJAM (Sir John A. MacDonald) Girls Indoor Soccer Team I Coached. It was a pleasure to have them also play on my recreational womens team.”
Kelly is running for City Council because Ward 2 deserves balanced, compassionate, and community-focused leadership. She believes residents deserve a councillor who listens, advocates fiercely, and delivers practical solutions that improve everyday life.
Kelly is ready to bring strong advocacy, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to service to City Hall.
Together, we can build a stronger Ward 2 for everyone.
